There is an absolute abundance of choice and opportunity for our students as they leave Rundle. If the choice paralysis didn't kick in while you were considering what K-12 school you would send your child to in Calgary, wait until the world opens up and you are considering where your young adult will attend university at?
When we consider these options, here's how we sometimes start to think about it:
1) Do you want to move away from home or stay at home? (if you are interested in moving away, is Canada the only option or is international interesting)
2) Do you prefer learning in a small environment or do you appreciate larger groups?
3) Do you prefer technical work, philosophy or research?
4) Do you have a specific career aspiration (engineer or accountant) or are you open to the possibilities?
As you deeply consider each of these questions and answer them to the best of your ability, you are gaining valuable insights into what makes up your post-secondary choice algorithm. I encourage our families to consider these important considerations early and often - it will pay dividends in those stressful decision-making days of Grade 11 and 12!
