The Prefect team is a leadership team made up of grade 10s, 11s and 12s that actively work together as role models and ambassadors at the senior high school.

Seen in the hallways with their spiffy maroon and grey ties, this group of fourteen leaders plan events throughout the year and are a bridge between students, faculty, and administration.

Coming out of the September Prefect retreat, each Prefect was assigned their portfolio for the school year taking on a leadership role in athletics, fine arts, events, and social media to name a few. As the two day retreat moved forward, the different qualities needed to be a senior high Prefect were discussed. These characteristics include being able to work as a team, carrying a positive social presence with confidence, and possessing the ability to manage time. Our retreat truly gave all Prefects a chance to establish what it really means to be kind, curious, and well together at Rundle College.

As a result of this learning experience, the Prefects concluded that the goals of the Prefects for this school year is to be positive leaders, build a sense of community, and to show gratitude. As a team, we established these as our values to guide us throughout the year. Reminding us that the tie we wear is also a symbol of the team we are a part of, the leadership role we take up in the school when we put it on, and the gratitude we have for everyone in the community we are so lucky to be a part of.

Until next time, your Prefect Heads,
Leo Ochieng, and Alana Johansan
