Together: Empathy & Building Positive Leadership Teams

This morning I attended an interesting session centered on positive teams, leadership and psychology.

My sense is that an awful lot of the learning comes back to empathy.  Perhaps the best anecdote shared was this:

When you are cut off in traffic - you are upset, frustrated and angered by the person who did it.  You are likely angry at the person who did this to you.

When you cut someone off in traffic - you are usually the victim of a compromised situation you wish you weren’t in.  You are sorry for your actions.

Same situation - different perspectives - different experience.

Something to consider.
