Seven years ago Rundle Academy adopted a program known as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Each year students in grade 9 are enrolled in this self- development youth awards program. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award often referred to as the Duke of Ed. was created by His Royal Highness Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh. The aim of the program is to encourage self-development and community involvement for youth. There are three levels in the program Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Within each level, there are specific requirements in Community Service, Physical Recreation, Skill development, and Adventurous Journey. Students must set personal goals and achieve those goals in order to successfully complete that level of the award.
To date, we are proud to note that 65 students have successfully completed their Bronze level, with 5 of them continuing on and successfully completing the silver level and 1 continuing to complete the prestigious Gold level.
Congratulations to all of our students that have completed any of the levels and for all the hard work you have put into completing this!
