On the onset of this blog, I had hoped this would be a place for deep community reflection on events and happenings in our Rundle community. And in the spirit of this vulnerability, I'd like to recognize yesterday.
November 1, 2016 was the day we learned that we had lost one of our teachers, Mr. Russell Paxton. What followed were a number of losses over the course of the next couple of years. All instances, as always, were unique. Some losses came by way of mental health, others as a result of an accident, and yet others due to disease. No matter if it is a parent, friend, staff or student - we miss those who have gone. I hope that everybody in our community takes time to remember those they love.
I certainly felt sadness, reminiscence and pride. I was sad to not have Russell teaching, reminiscent of the fun times we had with him, and proud of our community for the way they came to remember today during the Ball Caps and Bow Ties day.
