Earlier this week, I had a very special visit from one of our Grade 2 students. She came over to my office to pitch an idea, "Rundle Acts of Kindness." Her presentation was remarkable for so many reasons... here are a few:
- She completed this project and proposal on her own... it was never assigned. She just thought it would be a nice addition to our program!
- Her mom told her that if she did it all on her own, she would have more ownership and, as a result, her successes would feel better when they came!
- She was happy to have this go forward (or not) and knew that the best she could do was present it to us and hope for the best.
- She picked the title as she thought it was a clever play on 'Random acts of kindness.'
Needless to say, if you are a part of our Collett School community, you will be hearing a lot more about the 'Rundle Acts of Kindness' in the month of February!
This was a shining example of "Our grades will be impressive, however, they will be the least impressive things about us!"
