Be Curious: How does your organization define leadership (or anything else)

Dr. Craig Dowden took us through this activity at the CAIS Heads and Chairs conference - you might find it revealing about your school, organization or leadership teams.

  1. When I say leadership (or insert your school name, school culture or anything else here), what are the first 10 words that come to mind - you have 1 minutes to complete this task.
  2. Get into groups of 4 - if all four people have the same word, you get a point.
  3. How many points did your team get?  Which team had the most?

In a 5 groups in our room - only 2 teams got a single point.

Leaves us wondering - what is leadership in the context of CAIS schools?
