The title of this post is half-serious, have kidding... I can’t believe I missed this appearance.
Never the less, even though I was unable to attend, I have done the next best thing, I’ve read everything I could about his talk in Calgary.
Of all the things I’ve read, what struck me most was the Calgary Herald article and Gladwell’s perspective on the next generation. He states that he is optimistic about the next generation as employees, leaders and change-makers due to their ability to connect and collaborate. I couldn’t agree more. That said, I do have faith in our students beyond connection and collaboration, I truly believe that they bring a third ‘c’ to the table - character.
This was evident when I attended a recent Rundle Alumni Association meeting. The topic that the group spent the most time on was ‘Where should we volunteer as a group?’ Absolutely commendable and remarkable!
