In a blog post earlier this month, I mentioned several programs that are offered at Rundle (Peer Support, Prefects, The Ascent, etc.). As a result of that post, one reader requested we spend a little time sharing about what each program is all about.
Today's post explores 'The Ascent: A Distinction in Leadership at Rundle."
'The Ascent' was first introduced to Runde College Senior High students 3 years ago. The program was created to answer the question, "What is inspiring leadership?" and "How do we become better leaders?" The true core of the program is based in the belief that the ability to lead is the true 21st Century skill.
In essence, it is a program that offers courses in leadership theory and practice. High school students are invited to take a variety of modules throughout the year that is offered by in house and outside experts in the field of leadership. Once a student has completed 10 modules, they receive a 'Distinction in Leadership.'
